Novelists’ – Wed
WELCOME to the Novelists’ Workshop!
Members of the Novelists’ Workshop are serious writers, writing in all genres of fiction and sharing their work for feedback, insights, encouragement, and accountability. To join this workshop, a writer must have a draft work-in-progress of at least 10,000 words. On joining, you will be asked to submit a 500-word excerpt of your opening scene, and then will be fit into the schedule for regular long submissions of 12,000 words as your work continues. The schedule is flexible and designed to accommodate everybody’s muse, but that first long submission will come up quickly. After we have seen your opener, we will be anxious to see more!
Step 1 to join: Write! Have a substantial amount of work (say 10k words) ready to submit.
Step 2: Sign up through the event calendar, where you can register for that particular meeting. There is no charge. You will receive a link for the meeting. You can find the submissions to be discussed in the Member Shared files on the website, so that you can participate if you wish, but feel free to just attend and meet the group before deciding if it’s right for you.
Members are expected to provide thoughtful, kind feedback to each other and to that end, should read this article before their first session.

Brian Macloed – I was born in Rome, New York, and loved playing in the woods along the creek that eventually dumped into the headwaters of the Mohawk River. I’ve always been interesting in creating art of many types. For me that means communicating something true about life in a unique way. After retiring I decided that I wanted to write novels more than anything else. I completed my first Novel, The Black Wall, in August 2024.
