New Events Calendar & Website Look part 2

By now most of you have heard the rumor that we are changing how to sign up for workshops and events. Well, it’s true. For the last couple of months, our IT team has been creating us a new Events Calendar, that will hopefully be easier and cleaner for members, hosts, and admin alike. But we wanted to share some of the latest news.

We are aware that more and more of you are receiving multiple copies of the same message from the current platform. We apologize for the inconvenience, but there is nothing we can do as we are no longer receiving help from their IT.

Second, just wanted to give a quick update on the Events Calendar. We have done some beta testing with it. We have learned how to set the timezone properly now, and changed the button for the online events from “Watch” to “Join Now”. And happily those have been the biggest problems to date. Another change we want to make is in the email reminders. Currently it lists the zoom url, but not as a link. So you have to cut and paste it into your browser. Not a big deal, but much easier if you can just click on a link.

We have beta tested with some of our hosts. Those that were able to attend, found the system easier and pretty straightforward. We are hoping to get the rest of the hosts to give it a try soon. Feel free to ask your hosts what they think. Depending on feedback we receive from all the hosts, will dictate when we can launch.

Third, we mentioned last time that first we were putting the Events Calendar in place, then we were redoing the website. We will need to make changes to how registering for events will look, but that’s basically still true. However, one change we are making for now is creating a UPCOMING EVENTS section right under the rotating news articles on the main page of our website. This will take you directly into the calendar or event you wish to sign up for (after you sign in to the website).

More news to come!
