Poetry Path 2025
We’re Celebrating National Poetry Month with a Call for Submissions!
EXTENDED Deadline: May 31st at midnight
Poets, sharpen your laptops! The Intervale Center, previous two-time host for the Poetry Path, has enthusiastically welcomed BWW back for Summer 2025.
20 graphically designed panels displaying bite-sized poems by our members will again be installed amidst the trees along a portion of the Calkins Trail in Burlington’s Intervale, conveniently located just one mile from the city’s downtown.
This Year’s theme: finding HOPE in the solace of nature in all its forms. Why? In this time of uncertainty and chaos a poem can be healing for both the poet and the reader – an invitation to drop our judgement and connect with our feelings. Even better, a poem about nature encountered during a walk in the woods!
For inspiration, consider these prompts:
… the first tender shoots of parsley or basil poking through the earth…
… the warming taste of a stew made of just-picked root vegetables…
… the scent of a rain-washed meadow…
… the whine of hungry mosquitos around your head (hmm, maybe not that one… )
Now it’s your turn. Get writing!
