Poetry Path 2026 theme announced!
We talked with Intervale Center to see if they had any interest in hosting our 5th year of Poetry Path (4th year with them). They quickly responded with “YES, PLEASE!”.
And what better time to run the contest than in April – National Poetry Month. So here we go!
Around 20 graphically designed panels displaying bite-sized poems will again be installed amidst the trees along a portion of the Calkins Trail in Bulington’s Intervale Center, conceniently located just one mile from the city’s downtown.
| ___________________________________________________ SUBMISSION GUIDELINES for 2026 This year’s theme: Fostering Growth! Poems should resonate in harmony with some part of the Intervale Center’s mission: to respect the wild, sustain the land, and nourish the people! • Total number of submissions: three poems • 180 characters maximum (i.e. the total of letters, spaces, and punctuation). 85 characters is ideal. “Brevity is the soul of wit.” (i.e. shorter is better!) Note: these are guidelines only. Line placement on the panel is also a factor – poems must be easily legible to walkers below. • Deadline for submission: May 31th at midnight. P.S. Last year’s Poetry Path is still up. So go walk the trail before it comes down in a few weeks. Submit Here |
