Two Weeks and Counting
Submissions are closed. Join us again next year.
Around 20 graphically designed panels displaying bite-sized poems will again be installed amidst the trees along a portion of the Calkins Trail in Burlington’s Intervale Center, conveniently located just one mile from the city’s downtown.
As we have done for the last couple of years, we are opening Poetry Path submissions to the public for the last two weeks of the contest. So everyone, BWW members and non-members, send in your family friendly tiny poems. The winning poems will be written in panels and hung in the trees to be read by nature lovers.
| ___________________________________________________ SUBMISSION GUIDELINES for 2026 This year’s theme: Fostering Growth! Poems should resonate in harmony with some part of the Intervale Center’s mission: to respect the wild, sustain the land, and nourish the people! • Total number of submissions: three poems • 180 characters maximum (i.e. the total of letters, spaces, and punctuation). 85 characters is ideal. “Brevity is the soul of wit.” (i.e. shorter is better!) Note: these are guidelines only. Line placement on the panel is also a factor – poems must be easily legible to walkers below. • Deadline for submission: May 31th at midnight. |
