Writing From Family History Retreat
July 18th 10am to 4pm
Do you have a stash of old family letters or documents, scrapbooks, an antique with a story, or even a unique family story you’ve been meaning to write? Get them organized and come to this day-long retreat at Rock Point Center to make a start on your piece whether it’s a poem, novel, memoir or something else.
The retreat will include:
Time for sharing with the group
Time for writing
Time for silent meditation and walking the lakeside trails (swimming in the lake, too, if you like!)
Delicious lunch by local caterer Sugar Snap (If you have food allergies/requirements, please email Sam right away.)
More time for writing!
Our host Nancy Kilgore is a novelist, psychotherapist and a writing coach. Her latest novel, Pennsylvania Love Song began with a trove of her grandmother’s letters.
Times are hard right now for everybody, and BWW wants to be as supportive of our writers as we can. So we are offering a sliding scale of prices, please be as generous as you can.
Accessible Rate – Ensures that the cost of participation is not a barrier, as we value your voice at this retreat.
Sustaining Rate -The standard registration fee. This rate honors the value of this work.
Stewardship Rate -A pay-it-forward option. Your contribution directly anchors an accessible spot for a fellow writer.
